Love the classic Ford Bronco, but wish it could be more updated while not losing its old school charm? If so, we think the ICON4x4 Old School BR will have all your check boxes ticked. Once again the Californian builder has weaved its magic on a Ford Bronco, but less all the heavy stuff in what the founder, Jonathan Ward, described as “naked classic.”
The Old School BR drew its inspiration from 1966-67 Ford Bronco, featuring a custom steel Art Morrison chassis, stock-looking lenses with LED elements, Dynatrac axles, Fox Racing suspension offering 12 inches of travel (yummy!), billet aluminum four-slot 18-inch wheels, topped with Bronco hubcaps and shod in 33-inch BFGoodrich rubbers, Brembo brakes (six-pot front and four-pot back), and an angry 5L Ford Coyote V8 hooked up to a stainless steel Borla exhaust.
The motor kicks out a healthy 426 ponies which is put to good use on all four wheels via a choice of an Aisin five-speeder stick shift, or a Ford four-speed automatic with overdrive, with an Atlas II transfer case in between. On the inside, it gets an original ICON design which goes by the motto of no plastic. It has billet aluminum or stainless steel vents and knobs, first-gen Ford Mustang steering wheel, Dakota Digital analog gauges, “manual-look” cranks control power windows, aircraft-grade leather-look vinyl and Kenwood head unit with Arc Audi amplifier paired to Focal speakers.
Other notables which you should be aware include the obvious fully restored Bronco body, OE grilles and bumpers, redesigned spare tire carrier with cam release and a 90-degree locking stop, ICON badges in the font as used on the old Bronco, and a choice of gloss paint work.
Already ready drooling over it? Lets hope your bank account (and your heart) is prepared for the asking price. ICON4x4 is asking $195,000, excluding options, in return for this yummy custom Bronco. Also, be prepared to wait for half a year for it to get out of the production doors.
