The maestro of impossible timepieces, Jacob & Co., has done it again. Known for packing everything from diamonds to celestial maps into its watches, the brand now pays tribute to boxing history with the Astronomia Art “Ring of Fire” timepiece. Inspired by the legendary Ring of Fire heavyweight title bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, this limited-edition masterpiece delivers a knockout punch of craftsmanship and extravagance.
At 50 mm, the rose gold case is more arena than watch, housing a miniature boxing ring complete with intricately crafted 3D figurines of Fury and Usyk. These tiny combatants, each under one centimeter tall, are hand-painted and fully visible from all angles, even as they orbit the dial thanks to the double-axis flying tourbillon. The boxing theme doesn’t stop there: rotating miniature gloves, inscribed with the champions’ autographs, and design cues from the WBC championship belt grace this horological marvel.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Jacob & Co. without a diamond. A 1-carat, 288-faceted Jacob-cut white diamond moon hovers over the intricate display, adding a touch of celestial bling to this ode to Earthly combat. And if that wasn’t enough, the alligator strap is dyed the WBC belt’s iconic green, rounding out a design that’s as much a collector’s dream as it is a wearable work of art.
The auction, held as part of the Ring of Fire fight week, saw this piece go under the hammer for a staggering US$800,000, with all proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish International. While Fury and Usyk each received their own as keepsakes, the rest of us will just have to admire from ringside—or our screens.
