As you may already know, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi is 40 years old this year, and LEGO is already celebrating it with the reveal of a micro-scale LEGO Super Star Destroyer set as well as a buildable LEGO Star Wars Princess Leia (Boushh) Helmet. And it does not end there.
LEGO is further paying tribute to the third film from the original trilogy with LEGO dioramas, featuring two of the most intense and perhaps, memorable, scenes from the movie. Joining the existing trio of dioramas from A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back are the LEGO Star Wars Emperor’s Throne Room (75352) and LEGO Star Wars Endor Speeder Chase (75353).
The former depicts Vader and Luke’s duel in front of Emperor Palpatine in his throne room while the latter recreated the Speeder chase scene in the forest of Endor.
Like the first three dioramas, each set includes a quote from the movie (“I am a Jedi, like my father before me” for the Throne Room set and “Quick! Jam their comlinks. Center switch!” for the Endor Speeder Chase set). However, these two sets, being 40th Anniversary sets, have a little extra: a 40 Return of the Jedi logo to denote their celebratory sets status.
The LEGO Star Wars Emperor’s Throne Room (75352) uses 807 pieces to let you recreate the Emperor’s throne room onboard Death Star II. The set features a small but very detailed throne room, complete with steps, and the throne against a backdrop of the window of Death Star II.
There are three minifigures in this set, namely, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and Emperor Palpatine. Each figure has its own lightsaber while the Sith also includes lighting effects.
Meanwhile, the LEGO Star Wars Endor Speeder Chase (75353), which has 608 pieces, lets you recreate a section of the forests of Endor and features a pair of speeder bikes on transparent elements to mimic the chase scene above the (LEGO) lush forest floor.
The set includes 3 minifigures, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leisa, and a Scout Trooper.
Both the LEGO Star Wars Emperor’s Throne Room (75352) and LEGO Star Wars Endor Speeder Chase (75353) will be available starting May 1st, 2023, for US$99.99 and US$79.99, respectively.
