You know Apple AirPods’ ugly stem is here to stay when, other than Chinese companies, even Skullcandy and now, JBL, has adopted the design. While Skullcandy TWS looks surprisingly not so awkward, we can’t say the same for the new JBL TUNE 220TWS true wireless earbuds.
On second thought. Its actually little easier on the eyes than the AirPods’ skinny stem. But I can’t help to notice how the earbuds look nearly identical to Apple’s.
The charging case for TUNE 220TWS is also awfully similar to Apple’s (though not necessarily a bad thing). But hey, at least the TUNE 220TWS has more shades to offer other than white (called Pure White). It also comes in three other colorways: Triple Black, Ocean Blue and Dusty Pink.
Spec-sheet details include 12.5 mm dynamic driver, JBL Pure Bass Sound, Bluetooth 5.0, built-in microphone (obviously), and a rather minuscule battery coming in at 22 mA good for a modest 3 hours of playback.
Speaking of battery, the 410 mA on the charging case will provide an additional 16 hours of use, bringing the total playback time to 19 hours. Each bud further boasts a button that will allow you to switch tracks, activate voice command or take calls.
JBL TUNE 220TWS True Wireless Earbuds is available to order now in exchange €99.99 of your hard-earned money. However, it appears that it has not arrive to stateside. It can be found in the U.K., though, as a pre-order for £99.99 (which works out to be around $133).
It will ship, in the U.K. starting January 31, 2020.
