with a slew of Android phone flooding the market with just about the same look, it is indeed refreshing to see some uniquely different design to grace the market. KDDI, Japan’s second largest mobile carrier has unveiled a line of mobile phones yesterday and among them is one Android phone that’s strikingly sexy. dubbed the Infobar A01, it is the successor to the hugely popular Infobar and it is the first smartphone to branded under KDDI’s designer sub-brand iida.

designe of the handset is by product designer Naoto Fukasawa whom also designed the original Infobar. so you are forgiven to think it is a designer phone, cos’ i think it is. at least that’s what i thought when i first lay my eyes on this phone. A01’s minimalist design is clad in colorful hue that one could easily interpret as playfulness. the three large tile buttons that occupy the bottom of the phone’s front panel is a refreshing change from numerous touch sensitive buttons in today’s smartphones. the Infobar A01 Android phone is powered by 1GHz Snapdragon processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

the display is dominated by a framed 3.7-inch LCD touchscreen capable of 960 x 540 pixels resolution. connectivity includes Bluetooth 3.0+EDR and WiFi (b/g/n). other features include a 8 megapixels camera, e-wallet function, digital TV tuner, USB port, microSDHC slot, 6-axis motion sensor and as well as infrared. the Infobar A01 supports both CDMA and GSM networks. features aside, what impresses me most was the user-interface (UI) which looks gorgeous and fun to use. hit the jump and check out the video on the A01 user interface.
