KFC Chizza Is A Cross Between Fried Chicken and Pizza

Pizza consists of a round dough base topped with a bunch of ingredients. You can say the round dough base is what makes a pizza. Meanwhile fried chicken is, well, just fried chicken sometimes made special by 11 herbs and spices. Now, the question is: what if you mix the two? I know what you are thinking: a dough base topped fried chicken. Perhaps. If a pizza shop did that. KFC, on the other hand, has another idea: swapping the dough for white meat Extra Crispy fried chicken fillets.

The result is a blasphemous-to-pizza devotee Chizza (pronounced “cheet-za”). This unique blend of fried chicken and pizza, which was first introduced in the Philippines in 2015, has arrived on the US menu starting February 26 for a limited time. The Chizza features two 100% white meat Extra Crispy chicken filets topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni.

To mark the occasion, KFC will transform its New York City restaurant into a “Chizzeria” pop-up on February 23-24, where guests can try the Chizza for free. Fret not if you missed the event because Chizza is now available to the rest of the U.S. Customers can enjoy the Chizza alone or in a combo with Secret Recipe Fries and a medium drink. Additionally, KFC is bringing back Blackberry Lemonade to complement the Chizza combo.
