Japan’s favorite spicy potato snack has been kaiju-fied. Koikeya’s long-running Karamucho snacks are getting limited-edition Godzilla packaging, because since you cannot spew atomic breath, why not spit fire from the spiciness, right? Just kidding. We don’t even know how spicy they are.

The collaboration celebrates over 40 years of Karamucho. It features fiery package art starring Burning Godzilla from Godzilla vs. Destoroyah alongside the snack brand’s iconic grandma mascot dressed in a Godzilla suit. This is the kind of wonderfully unhinged energy only Japan can deliver.
The special packaging rolls out across several Karamucho products, including Hot Chili chips and sticks, wasabi variants, and Yangnyeom chicken-flavored snacks. The Godzilla-themed lineup will be available nationwide in Japan from May 18 through early July 2026, while supplies last.
