Remember our post on the “UCS-style” LEGO 1966 Batmobile? Well, it is official now. It will arrive this month, on the 26th. IMHO, it is a must-have for any Batmobile collector, whether or not if you are a fan of LEGO or not because, rotatable stand.

While it does come with a rotatable stand with an almost UCS-isque descriptive baseplate, this is not anywhere near an UCS level set. It has just 345 pieces, btw.
The LEGO 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile is an updated version of the 1966 Batmobile that came with the LEGO Batman Classic TV Series – Batcave set from 2016.
In other words, it is kids’ stuff, but now with less visible studs. I was almost sold by the product images, if not for the size.

When built, the 1966 Batmobile measures 2.5 inches (6 cm) high, 7.5 inches (20 cm) long and 2.5 inches (7 cm) wide. Not exactly a collector’s size, but as a boon, it will play well with other LEGO DC Batman sets.
I think it will make for a good display piece for grown-ups too, if don’t mind the less than accurate depiction of the Lincoln Futura-based Batmobile used by Adam West’s cape crusader.
LEGO 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile is set to be available on April 26, for US$29.99.
