Over the years, LEGO has released plenty of SpongeBob SquarePants sets. But they all had one thing in common: they were all designed for kids. It is a no-brainer, really. However, the world’s most famous sea sponge has a fanbase far beyond children. There are adult fans, too. LEGO now knows that, and here we are, welcoming the very first LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants set for adults.
Folks, this is the LEGO Icons SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom building set (11386). This lovely 18+ LEGO Icons set uses a total of 1,794 pieces to recreate the iconic Bikini Bottom, featuring SpongeBob’s pineapple home, Squidward’s house, Patrick’s rock, and Jellyfish Fields.
With so much packed into the set, you’d expect loads of details—and it certainly delivers. SpongeBob’s pineapple home features a furnished living room and bedroom. Squidward’s Moai statue-inspired house isn’t lacking either. It has a living room, bedroom, rooftop lounge, and even a bathroom so you can recreate Squidward’s bath scene. Similarly, Patrick’s tiny abode rocks a detailed interior, plus he even gets his own slice of Jellyfish Fields.
The set aims to rekindle memories of this long-running animated series. It includes items from memorable storylines, such as the boatmobile, Squidward’s clarinet and music stand, a portrait of Gary, and more. And then there’s, of course, the beloved cast in minifigure form. Included in the set are SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward minifigures, plus Gary the Snail and DoodleBob as brick-built characters. Yes, even DoodleBob. Why do I smell chaos? LOL.
When completed, the set measures a shelf-space-devouring 54 cm (21 in.) wide, 13 cm (5 in.) deep, and a fairly imposing 24 cm (9.5 in.) tall.
