It is official, folks. The LEGO Ideas submission Spongebob Squarepants The Krusty Krab has garnered 10,000 support (and in just 43 days!) and it is in review. In other words, the most recognizable underwater diner in the world could an official LEGO set. So, keep your fingers crossed, Spongies!
We have not seen many Krusty Krab diner build, but looking at this creation by Malaysian LEGO enthusiast, Tong Xin Jun aka ExeSandbox, it is not hard to see why it has garnered so many support in such a short period of time.
With 2,996 pieces, Tong certainly spare no effort in details. Details like faithful recreation of exterior and interior that includes the kitchen, office, and bathroom.
It has a removable roof for access to the interior and the proposed set also comes with a buildable Krusty Krab clam sign, a dumpster, a boatmobile, and six minifigures, namely, Spongebob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, Sandy and Plankton.
It is no doubt playability is high on this one. We hope the ExeSandbox’s LEGO Ideas Spongebob Squarepants The Krusty Krab gets the go ahead. Meanwhile, have a few more look at the rendered product images HERE.
