LEGO is finally giving X-Men fans what they’ve been waiting for: the X-Mansion buildable set. Yep, you can now live out your mutant dreams by building Professor X’s headquarters, brick by brick—Cerebro and Danger Room included—all without having to pass an entrance exam at the mutant academy.
Honestly, it’s about time. The X-Mansion is basically the Avengers Tower of the X-Men world or the Daily Bugle of Spider-Man’s universe. Except, you know, with fewer people yelling “Parker!” What I am trying to say is it is iconic and an important artifact of the franchise.
With 3,093 pieces, this set is perfect for those who like their LEGO as complex as a Wolverine backstory. It’s packed with minifigures, including Professor X, Wolverine, Cyclops, and—drumroll—five characters making their LEGO debuts like Jean Grey, Gambit, and Iceman.
You’ll also get a buildable Sentinel because it wouldn’t be an X-Men showdown without a giant robot trying to ruin everyone’s day. There’s even an exploding rooftop for when things get heated (or when you just want to pretend Magneto’s up to no good). I think the latter is the coolest feature.
Complete with two levels, the X-Mansion features all the must-haves: Wolverine’s bedroom, a lab, a sliding Danger Room door, and, of course, Professor X’s lab where he plots… I mean, strategies. When completed, the X-Mansion measures over 10.5 in. (27 cm) high, 16 in. (40 cm) wide and 10 in. (25 cm) deep. So, get ready the shelf space for its imminent arrival but before that, you may want to check your bank balance.
All this mutant magic will set you back US$329.99, but if you’re a LEGO Insider, you’ll get a sweet little Cerebro add-on if you buy it between November 1-7. It will be available for purchase starting November 04, 2024, for the general public, but if you’re an insider aka you have been too much on LEGO sets, you can grab it early on November 01, 2024.
