LEGO Play with Braille - English (40656) Set

The world of a visually impaired child is obviously a lot less fun but thanks to LEGO Braille Bricks, a child who is suffering from visual impairment is able to enjoy LEGO bricks like any regular kid. LEGO Braille Bricks incorporate a specific number of studs to represent Braille letters and numbers, thus allowing sighted teachers, students, and family members to interact with the visually impaired or blind learner on equal terms. And doing so while remaining fully compatible with the LEGO System in play.

Started development back in 2019, LEGO Braille Bricks are now available as an actual product money can buy. The set, dubbed LEGO Play with Braille – English (40656), was revealed ahead of World Blind Awareness Month in October. The set, which is aimed at kids aged 6 and above, is not just for the visually impaired; it is for anyone who is curious about braille, be they blind, partially sighted, or sighted.

The LEGO Play with Braille – English (40656) includes 287 bricks in five colors: white, yellow, green, red, and blue. The set also includes two baseplates to build on and is presented in packaging with braille embossing.

You may learn more about the new LEGO Play with Braille – English (40656) on LEGO.com where you can also pre-order it for US$89.99, with shipping from September 01, 2023.
