The LEGO Star Trek: Type-15 Shuttlepod (40768) set is not a LEGO set that money can buy. Well, at least not directly. Revealed along with the announcement of the LEGO Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, this is an upcoming Gift with Purchase set celebrating the launch of the first LEGO Star Trek set. It is not to scale with the Star Trek: TNG spaceship, which would be ridiculously small, but it serves well as a companion piece when displaying that glorious, iconic starship from one of the most recognizable sci-fi franchises.
As a bonus, it is minifigure-scale. It may be a 261-piece set, but it certainly isn’t lacking in detail. When completed, this iconic support craft measures over 2.5 in. (6 cm) high, 4.5 in. (12 cm) long, and 3.5 in. (8 cm) wide, and features opening wing doors and a rear hatch. The interior includes a depiction of an LCARS system display with the Stardate 45076.3 and a schematic of a Romulan spacecraft. On the outside, it has all the deco, including the name of its mothership, the shuttlepod’s name “ONIZUKA,” and liveries.
Rounding up this tiny package is a minifigure of Ensign Ro Laren, which further increases its collectibility, IMHO. So how does one secure a set? Simple. Fans who purchase the new set (10356) between November 28 and December 1, 2025, from LEGO.com or LEGO Stores will receive this Gift with Purchase. But, obviously, it’s while stocks last.
