I am not a super fan of The Legend of Zelda, but I am strangely drawn to this brick-built Great Deku Tree. Who knew a brick-built version the fatherly guardian of the forest would look so good? The 2,500-piece LEGO The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 (77092) is an awesome brick-built replica of the Great Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda video game franchise.
What makes this made-for-adult fan of LEGO set special is that it is a 2-in-1 set. Now, we don’t see many collector’s sets that are 2-in-1, do we? Then again, it is only right that it is a 2-in-1. How else do you do justice to this important character that has appeared throughout the video game franchise?
The set lets you build the Great Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Whichever version of the forest guardian you build, it is accompanied by a diorama. The set features buildable iconic sceneries from the video games, including the Master Sword pedestal from Breath of the Wild, and Link’s House from Ocarina of Time so that you can customize the display.
Unlike most sets made for grown-ass people, this The Legend of Zelda set is not a build-and-display set; both builds offer interactive features.
The Great Deku Tree from Breath of the Wild, decorated with vibrant pink blossoms and accompanied by the iconic Master Sword pedestal, features an animated face. By pressing a lever, you can animate the expressive eyebrows and mouth.
Meanwhile, the Ocarina of Time’s Great Deku Tree, surrounded by lush green foliage and the iconic Link’s House, has a mechanism that lets you open the mouth to reveal a cleverly designed Skulltula (a spider-like enemy from the games) that descends into its depths.
The set also boasts a variety of curated items from each game, including the Ocarina of Time, a Hylian Shield, the Master Sword, and more. Oh, you can also have both the Master Sword pedestal and Link’s House as smaller models in both versions, if so desire.
The set is also supplied with four LEGO minifigures, including Princess Zelda and three versions of the protagonist Link. When completed the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Deku Tree model measures over 13 in. (33 cm) tall while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Deku Tree model stands over 12 in. (31 cm) tall.
