The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part will only hit theaters in February 8, 2019, but already, LEGO has unveiled new building sets based on the animated movie. The collection, which I am sure more to come, includes LEGO DUPLO that will have the youngest of LEGO fans covered – in addition to standard LEGO sets. All told, a total of 19 sets are being released. They will be launched in “waves” with select sets available starting December 1, with other sets to follow on December 26, 2018. Clearly, a sale move to catch the once-a-year major spending season.

If you are wondering why there is LEGO DUPLO involvement, well, that is because in this sequel to the first LEGO movie, LEGO DUPLO is in the movie. LEGO DUPLO is the the invaders from outerspace. Anyways, not to give away too much, here’s the plot overview:

“The film reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all-new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.”

May we suggest that you catch the latest official trailer after the post to get yourself all psyched up. As for the LEGO sets, not a lot is known, TBH, except for the aforementioned and some product images which you can find on this post. Warning: image galore ahead!
