LG StanbyME 2 Portable Monitor

The LG StanbyME 2 has arrived, and it looks like the original one finally got tired of being wheeled around like a hotel luggage cart. This version unclicks from its stand, strolls off like it has better places to be, and somehow still manages to look stylish while doing it. You can hang it on your wall, lean it on a table, or just carry it around with a strap like it’s the world’s most high-maintenance tablet.

It’s still 27 inches, now with QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440), built-in speakers, and the Alpha 8 AI chip that automatically tweaks picture and sound based on how you’ve tilted the thing—landscape, portrait, or full-on pancake mode. There’s Dolby Vision. There’s Dolby Atmos. There’s webOS. There’s voice control, so you don’t even have to lift a finger, which is great because your arms are probably tired from moving them room to room like a clingy pet.

The battery runs about four hours. It charges via USB-C or when docked. It still supports Apple AirPlay and Google Cast. It even lets you doodle things on-screen, which might sound unnecessary until you try it.

No U.S. pricing yet, but the StanbyME 2 rolls into Singapore for S$1,799 (~US$1,400).
