Thanks to the space race that spanned from the 50s to the 70s, it inspired a tsunami of sci-fi movies in the 60s-70s including classics like Barberella and Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. These movies, together with the then on-going space race, in turned inspired the designs of many things ranging from appliances to furniture to even automobile which resulted in products that oozes with space age details in them. When we say ‘space age’ details, it was the soft curves and minimalist outlook that we are talking about. It was an era that some of us reminiscences but not necessary thought has a place today, or so we thought. LG describes its new flagship OLED 4K TV, W7, “razor-thin” and they are probably right ‘cause a mere 2.57 mm (that’s 0.101-inch!) profile on a 65-inch behemoth, its edge would equate to a razor’s edge. Seriously, that’s absolutely mind-blowing, more so when you know that its thinner than your iPhone 7. When mounted on the wall with magnetic brackets, which leaves no gap between the TV and the wall, it creates an even more picturesque sight.
