Marshall has shrunk its Bluetooth speakers to offer Marshall’s signature sound in a very compact, go anywhere package. Called Emberton, it is the smallest Marshall speaker yet.
Emberton rocks the iconic Marshall design that reminiscent that of a classic guitar amp. Under the hood, it promised to deliver True Stereophonic, Marshall’s multi-directional sound technology that will let you experience “absolute 360-degree sound” where every spot is a sweet spot.
Not sure how is that possible with a traditional sealed cabinet design that packs two 2” 10 W full-range dynamic drivers, paired to two 10 W Class-D amplifiers and two passive radiators.
The Marshall Emberton is portable Bluetooth speaker that utilizes Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless audio streaming. It does not appear to have auxiliary port for wired connection, though.
On top of the sealed cabinet is Marshall’s usual classy and minimal design; it has a Bluetooth pairing button, a sleek battery status indicator and classy multi-directional control knob for music and volume control, and for turning it on or off.
The speaker tips the scales at 700g (1.5 lbs) which is not exactly very light for something that is very portable, IMHO.
The device is outfitted with a 20+ hours battery with quick charge support that will get you 5 hours of playtime with just 20 minutes of charging. Full charging takes about 3 hours.
Finally, befitting its go anywhere design, Emberton is IPX7 rated and therefore, a little splash or rain shouldn’t harm it in anyway.
The Marshall Emberton Portable Bluetooth Speaker is available from Marshallheadphones.com for US$149.99.
