Evil in Eternia comes in many forms. Some are towering skull-faced tyrants. Others are shirtless muscle men with questionable fashion choices. And then there are the weird ones. The ones that make you pause, squint, and go, “Wait… I remember this guy.” Enter Blast-Attak and Red Shadow, two deep-cut villains making their return via the Masters of the Universe Origins line.

Let’s start with Blast-Attak, who might be the most aggressively literal character name in MOTU history. He is a robot. He explodes. That is the character. Originally introduced in the New Adventures era, Blast-Attak is back in Origins form as a 5.5-inch (14 cm) articulated figure with modular limbs designed to pop off mid-battle. Yes, that gimmick survived the reboot, and yes, it is still ridiculous in the best possible way. The figure features modern articulation while keeping that chunky, toy-aisle-of-1990 energy intact. He comes armed with his signature blaster, ready to either fight He-Man or disassemble himself dramatically on your shelf.
Then there is Red Shadow, the moody, mysterious warrior who looks like Skeletor went through a medieval phase. Red Shadow pulls inspiration from early MOTU concept designs and feels like the kind of villain who would absolutely monologue before striking. This 5.5-inch figure also gets the full Origins treatment, with updated articulation, classic proportions, and weapons that scream “Saturday morning cartoon danger.” He looks fantastic, standing menacingly, weapon raised, silently judging your life choices.
Both figures are part of Mattel’s ongoing effort to dig deeper into Eternia’s lore while keeping the toys playable, poseable, and proudly old-school. No overcomplication. No modern redesign gymnastics. Just proper action figures that look like they belong next to your vintage collection, even if that collection currently lives in a display case instead of a toy box.
The Masters of the Universe Origins Blast-Attak and Red Shadow action figures are available now for US$31.99 each.
