Masters of the Universe Origins Eternia Playset

Complete your planet Eternia setup with the Mattel Masters of the Universe Origins Eternia Playset. That’s right, folks. Joining the Snake Mountain and the MOTU Origins Castle Grayskull is the Eternia Playset from the original Masters of the Universe series.

Masters of the Universe Origins Eternia Playset

Like the MOTU Origins Castle Grayskull, the Masters of the Universe Origins Eternia Playset is a reboot of the original toy from the 80s but obviously, it has a very much improved mold that allows a boatload of details to show. Plus, it is loaded with action-packed features and hidden surprises.

The set includes the Eternia Tower with the Grayskull Tower and the Viper Tower aka the Snake Mountain Tower flanking it. Measuring 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide (91.4 cm by 122 cm), the Eternia playset features a working battle tram, elevators, trap doors, and more.

The trap door and opening gate can be found at the Grayskull Tower while the Snake Mountain Tower’s snake head can be made to lunge and bite at any interloping heroes.

Meanwhile, the Tower of Eternia has its own surprises – including the Lion’s Head entryway that captures would-be intruders, a moat with sculpted details, a missile projectiles-shooting double-barrel cannon on top of the tower, an elevator for moving figures between 2nd and 3rd levels, and a training room and armory with a maneuverable Horde Trooper dummy that can be controlled from the 2nd level.

Finally, circling the set is a monorail system with a motorized tram that zips around the three towers. You can attach one of the three different vehicles to transport your figures around the battle.

No figure is included, though. BUT there is an Early Backer Bonus where fans who commit before 10/19 will get a limited-edition King Grayskull figure. And yes, the Mattel Masters of the Universe Origins Eternia Playset is a Mattel Crowdfunding project. It will only be made for backers who join before 11/9.

The campaign is scheduled to launch on October 12, 2022, at 9 AM PT and it will only materialize if there are 5,000 backers before the campaign ends on November 09.

If the campaign is successful, the product will ship on or before March 29, 2024. Yes. It is one hell of an Eternia wait and if it isn’t cheap either. Mattel is asking for US$550 in return for the set.

[UPDATE October 12, 2022, 6:35 PM PDT] The crowdfunding campaign has started! There will be unlockable stretch goals including Moat Monster Figure and Keclar, leader of the Elders Figure.
