the world is not lacking of Batmobile replicas but this particular creation by Casey Putsch of Putsch Racing is not yet another replica but one that’s actually powered by a turbine engine and according to Putsch, this is the only turbine-powered Batmobile in the world. i bet you didn’t think this beauty is drivable but on the contrary, not only does it drives like any regular car but it is also registered and insured for U.S. roads, which means it is total road-worthy and street legal. one word: awesome!

under the hood is a military spec Boeing turbine engine salvaged from a decommissioned drone helicopter which Putsch rebuilt and fitted into his race-derived Batmobile replica based on the 1989 Batman movie directed by Tim Burton. the turbine has a rated power of 365 horses that drives the rear wheels via a semi-automatic transmission. apart from the turbine engine, this Batmobile’s interior is equally impressive with the host of digital avionics that include an Apple iPad for app support, GPS and satellite Internet.

it took Putsch five months to complete this vehicle and it recently made its debut at the Ault Park Concours d’Elegance in Cincinnati, Ohio. though, Putsch’s Batmobile may not be ‘movie-accurate’ but the sound of the turbine is enough to make any Batman fan weep. check out a video of the turbine-powered Batmobile in action and a few more images after the break.
