Fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion who spend a ridiculous amount of time at the keyboard, rejoice! MelGeek—the mechanical keyboard maker best known for its LEGO-compatible keyboard—has teamed up with NERV for the first-ever Evangelion magnetic switch keyboard. Meet the MADE68 ULTRA+ EVA Unit-01 Limited Edition: an ultra-low latency, ultra-high-speed response mechanical gaming keyboard that fuses the iconic EVA Unit-01 aesthetic with MelGeek’s MADE-series design DNA. It’s eye candy with a side of synch ratio.

The keyboard packs exclusive EVA Unit-01 “Mecha Assembly” side panels—lightweight 3D designs with exposed hex screws as a nod to the EVA’s armored shell. Labels reference Unit-01 Test Type, while MelGeek’s signature lightbox now rocks EVA-exclusive dynamic lighting, a couple of “emergency” labels, and a proud NERV logo.
As if that wasn’t enough glow, the translucent PC keycaps pump out brighter, freakishly cool lighting. Select keys even carry EVA lore: modifiers are reimagined as Angels like Sachiel and Ramiel, the Shift key screams SYNC 400%, and the Return key is a full-on Berserk Warning with red backlight.
Under the hood, it’s based on the MADE68 ULTRA+ magnetic switch board, promising “Berserk-level performance.” Key trigger precision is a mind-melting 0.01 mm—blink and you’ve already typed. The custom purple-orange magnetic switches pack modular structures, transparent housings, EVA-colored cores, and even vents for airflow.

Other notables include a gold-plated FR4 positioning plate, sandwich-style silicone, printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), MelGeek’s newly developed magnetic swatch-specific stabilizers, high-density PORON sandwich foam, and a composite noise-optimized switch bottom pad.
Naturally, this luxury doesn’t come cheap. The EVA Unit-01 keyboard runs 1,486 yuan [CH]* (~207 USD). Worse still? It’s locked to China due to licensing. Translation: prepare to hunt down an importer—or start bribing your friends overseas. It’s available on Tmall.com, but does not ship to overseas addresses.
