In this digital age, I find myself less dependent on traditional writing instrument. TBH, I can’t even locate a notebook in my productivity stash. Nearly everything has gone digital for me. However, if this digital revolution, which has been going on for years now, has not catch on with you, then it is safe to assume that you are also one who appreciate a good crafted mechanical pencil. If so, you may want to check out the Minimal Mechanical Pencil 2.0 by Modern Fuel Design.
As the product name hints, this minimal mechanical pencil is a follow up to the first that have received much love on Kickstarter. In this second-generation model, it is available in different metal options, namely titanium, copper, bronze and stainless steel, as well as additional lead size, ranging from 0.5 to 0.9 mm. The outlook maybe similar to the first, but with the new version, it does tout a few notable tweaks based on users feedback.
These include a pencil body that’s usable with all three lead size mechanism, 100 percent metal internal mechanism, perfectly balanced construction, o-ring seal at the cone to prevent gradual involuntarily loosening, a hidden screw system that holds the pencil together, the option to switch out the eraser for stylus or a metal eraser plug for the extra clean look and finally, a retractable tip to prevent it from piercing your pocket or damaging when accidentally dropped.
Each Minimal Mechanical Pencil 2.0 comes with a unique serial number hidden away inside the pencil, keeping things nice and clean like its predecessor. Minimal Mechanical Pencil 2.0 design and manufactured entirely in the good’ol US of A and like its forebear, it sports the same seamless look with the pencil being machined from a solid piece of metal and it carries with it a lifetime guarantee. The latter is something almost unheard of in the world of writing instruments.
You can find the Minimal Mechanical Pencil 2.0 on Kickstarter in the next 50 plus days where you can pre-order a unit by pledging $70 or more. The campaign has already met its initial funding goal and so, if your pledge is essentially a pre-order which will be fulfilled in February 2018.
