Not going to lie. When I first heard about the Montegrappa Eye Of Sauron: Middle-Earth Collector’s Edition writing instrument, I was half expecting a fountain or roller with the Eye of Sauron suspended on the cap. But nope. It does not have that.
It will probably burn your hand if it did. However, it does have Montegrappa’s modern interpretation of the all-seeing eye, an avatar applied in high-grade Super-LumiNova enamel that stores light energy and emit it when in low light condition.
This is the second Eye of Sauron pen, btw. While the first iteration from 2020 had a cleaner look, the new Eye of Sauron pen is, as the name implies, Middle-Earth themed. It also bears a scale replica cast of the One Ring in gilded brass, engraved with Tengwar script. As before, the One Ring can be removed from the pen.
The pen features a satin-black resin and ruthenium-tinted brass construction etched with symbols of the Fellowship and an ancient map of Middle-earth encircling the cap.
The Montegrappa Eye Of Sauron: Middle-Earth Collector’s Edition is available as Fountain Pen, Rollerball, and Ballpoint.
It is available to order now with a starting price of 520 EUR (or around US$557+ based on today’s going rate).
