Question: what’s gold and charges your smartphone? Well, the answer is the mophie limited edition gold powerstation mini (pardon the lowercase because that’s what mophie wanted). mophie announced a new limited-edition gold lineup of portable charging accessories, including the powerstation mini and premium charging cables. Yes, even the cable.
They are not coated in real gold but they do look pretty luxe. The powerstation mini, priced at US$39.95, features a 5,000 mAh battery and 20 W USB-C PD fast charging in a compact, gold-finished aluminum design. The premium charging cables, priced at US$19.95, are 1-meter (3.3 feet) gold cables (USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C) with a durable braided sheath, tested for 30,000 bends, and compatible with PD chargers.
These products are available at select Apple stores and online, with a two-year warranty. Well, about that… here’s the thing it is either sold out on Apple’s online store US or they do not sell it. It was not even on the ZAGG website when we wrote this post. The cable is on ZAGG.com, though. We also found it being sold on the Apple UK online store for 39.95 quid and it can also be found on the ZAGG EU website for 49.95 euro.
