Motorola Moto Z4 Smartphone

Motorola has revealed the new Motorola Moto Z4 which continues the Z family’s tradition of modularity. For once, I am incline to think that a Motorola Moto Z device, or any phone at all, is future-proof device, or at least near future-proof – thanks to 5G moto mod. With the 5G moto mod, users will get to enjoy unprecedented download speeds of up to 20x faster than 4G, allowing a movie to be downloaded in seconds, and not minutes.

Guess that does really makes the Moto Z4 “future proof,” though I can say the same for other hardware that isn’t “modular,” like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 Mobile Platform with 2 GHz octacore processor and bolstered by AIE.

On the imaging front, the Moto Z4 defies the current trend of multiple cameras setup and instead adopts a single rear-facing camera, but with advanced low-light 48 MP rear snapper that employs new Quad Pixel technology to record high-quality 12 MP images every time.

The camera also touts 4x better light sensitivity, optical image stabilization and of course, photography wizardry with a little help from artificial intelligence. The rear camera also makes 4K UHD videos too – just in case you are wondering.

Other features include a notched 6.39-inch Max Vision OLED FHD+ display (19.5:9 aspect ratio, 2,340 x 1,080p pixels), 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3, 6000 series polished aluminum frame, 4GB RAM, 128 GB internal storage, microSD support up to 512 GB, Adreno 612 GPU, in-display fingerprint sensor, face unlock, a 25 MP selfie camera (also with Quad Pixel technology), USB 3.1 Type-C port, 3 far-field microphones, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 2-day battery life by the way of a non-removable 3,600 mAh battery, 15W TurboPower charging, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Out-of-the-box, Motorola Moto Z4 runs off Android 9 Pie. The biggest selling point (or not) is modularity, allowing the Moto Z4 to be slapped with the aforementioned 5G moto mod, or other modules like the projector, 360 degree camera, stereo speaker and more.

Pre-order is already underway for the unlocked version if you are interested (and happens to reside in the U.S.). The 5G moto mod will be offered through, not surprisingly, Verizon , but be warned that it costs pretty penny, retailing for $199.99.
