There are mugs and then there is the MYMUG, an uber minimalist mug that is virtually indestructible. But do you need one? Probably not… if you can stand replacing those fragile ceramic mugs, that is. If not, MYMUG is the mug of choice that’s not only unbreakable, but it also oozes with style lent to it by a composite material that feels like ceramic and yet not delicate like the actual ceramic. It is hardy. It can take the tumble when it is accidentally subjected to it which kind of makes it a perfect to-go drinkware for both urban and outdoor use. The minimalist, vase-like design is not just about form; it is also designed with comfortable one-handed grip in mind.
The materials used are 100 percent FDA-approved which means it contains no BPA or BPS that could harm you and it is totally dishwasher- and microwave-safe. It is insulated, so your cold drinks will remain cool and hot drinks, hot. But for how long, I am not too sure. Perhaps more importantly, MYMUG is 100 percent made in the good’ol U.S. of A, so you’d know control over materials and manufacturing are within its creator Making Modern’s grasp.
It comes in four barista-friendly sizes: 4-, 8-, 12- and 16-oz. (0.12-0.47 liters) and it will need your help to get it off the ground by backing it on Kickstarter. Prices start at $10 for one 4 oz (early bird) and runs up to (still affordable) $24 for the 16 oz variety. As with any Kickstarter campaign, the fate of MYMUG depends on you. It has 24 more days on the calendar and it is a little over half way to its $20K goal, so I’d say it has a fairly good chance of making it. With your help, of course.
