While many handset makers are jumping on the 90 or 120 Hz refresh rate bandwagon, nubia is taking the refresh rate race to the next level with a whopping 144 Hz ultra-high screen refresh rate.

You heard that right. One.Hundred.Forty.Four.Hertz. The company is lending this insane refresh rate display on its Red Magic 5G. So, yeah. Not only it has crazy fast refresh rate, it is also has super fast connectivity too.

The display is a 6.65-inch FHD+ (2,340 x 1,080 pixels) AMOLED which also boasts 240 Hz touch sampling rate and automatic brightness adjustment up to 4,096 levels. Plus, the 144 Hz screen is also home to an optical fingerprint sensor.

Power is derived from Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip with graphics duty undertaken by Adreno 650. It has a choice of 8, 12, or 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128 or 256 UFS 3.0 storage.

There’s also Wi-Fi 6, support for L1/L5 dual GPS. It has a triple-sensor main shooter that comprises of a Sony IMX686 64 MP main camera, a 8 MP super wide-angle camera and a 2 MP macro camera, and there’s a 8 MP selfie camera in its very slim forehead. It has no notch or hole punch, and that’s a good thing.

Other key highlights include a hybrid air and liquid cooling system with actual fan system that spins at up to 15,000 RPM (!), capacitive shoulder triggers with 300 Hz sampling rate, a 7-pin connector on the side for accessories, 3.5 mm headphone jack, a triple-mic setup, and a 4,500 mAh battery with 55 W “air-cooled turbo fast charge” and 10A high-current fast charge.

nubia Red Magic 5G Gaming Smartphone has been launched in China. Pre-order is happening now with sales expected to happen on March 19.

Prices of the nubia Red Magic 5G start at 3,799 yuan and runs up to 4,999 yuan for the top-spec-ed 16 GB/ 256 GB version.
