Off The Wall by Michael Jackson and Documentary CD/DVD Bundle

Estate of Michael Jackson and Sony Legacy Recordings has come together to release a CD/DVD and CD/Blu-ray editions of Michael Jackson’s revolutionary 1979 album, Off The Wall. The bundle comes packed with the original version of Off The Wall, a record that spun numerous chart topping hits, and a new Spike Lee directed documentary entitled Michael Jackson’s Journey From Motown To Off The Wall. The documentary made its world premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival on January 24 and will hit the small screen on SHOWTIME on February 5 at 9PM ET/PT, on-demand and over the Internet. After which, it will propagate to the rest of the world. Though no details on what countries do ’rest of the world’ include. If you have been following MJ, Off The Wall needs no introduction. However, if you are not familiar, here’s a little piece of official intro:

“Written by Michael Jackson, the first single from Off The Wall, “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”, was Michael’s first Grammy and first single to hit  #1 in the U.S. and internationally as a solo artist.  With the singles “Rock With You”, “Off the Wall” and “She’s Out of My Life” Jackson became the first solo artist in history to have four singles from the same album peak inside the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The album was an enormous commercial success; as of 2014 it is certified eight times platinum in the United States and has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time.”

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson

As for the documentary, it is jointly produced by Spike Lee, John Branca and John McClain, and as its title suggests, it traces MJ’s raise to stardom with clever assemble of archival footage pulled from the man’s personal trove of archive, plus interviews with contemporary talents, as well as family members. Off The Wall: Michael Jackson’s Original Album and Documentary Michael Jackson’s Journey From Motown To Off The Wall CD/DVD Bundle is set to hit the shelves February 26, 2016, priced at $17.88 (or $21.98, if you prefer to acquire through MJ’s official website).
