Mini has previously put out official words on the engine lineup for the Mini Cooper, so we shall not bore you with that part of the details all over again. however, there are some new details from Mini official mouth. first off, the Coupe will be the first Mini to be built around the “three-box” design concept. basically, this means that the body, wraparound glass and roof are the three boxes that are built upon a horizontal plane. there are of course, various visual cues that tells you that this is a coupe instead of the usual hatch. the most obvious being the coupe boot and a bubbled-up roof. the coupe also gets an active aero wing (spoiler) that automatically deploys at 50 mph (80 km/h) and retracts when the speed does below 37 mph (60 km/h).
among the coupe lineup, the S coupe and the JCW coupe (John Cooper Works) tops the range with a force induction 1.6-liter petrol engine that makes the century sprint in 6.5-seconds for the S coupe, and a tad over six seconds for the JCW coupe. while the rest of the lineup has a top speed of 140 mph (225 km/h), the S coupe and JCW coupe tops at 142 mph (229 km/h) and 149 mph (240 km/h) respectively.
