Outdoor and wireless charging are like water and oil. They don’t mix, but not if CheeNYC can help it. The young Qi product design company has created a new wireless charger that beckons you to bring it along to any activity. Called ONYXX, it is the first wireless charger and power bank designed for outdoors and active lifestyle, so you can have a peace of mind when charging next to the river and also never have to worry about sudden downpour.
It is not quite waterproof though; it is water/splash and dust resistant, so at least it has no fear of moisture and dust. As a wireless charger, it offers 10W of Qi wireless charging power compatible with a variety of devices from brands like Apple, Samsung, LG, Google, as well as Microsoft. As a power bank, it packs 5,000 mAh of juice and dual USB ports to charge two devices simultaneously – should the situation calls for it.
Finally, this wireless charger also comes with a series of safety features that will prevent the incidents of overcharging and/or overheating, thus safeguarding your precious gadgets from any charging-related mishaps. I guess you could say wireless charging is finally truly wireless, well, that’s until the 5,000 mAh runs out and the charging pad itself needs to be recharge. It appears that’s how it is for now until batteries that never need to be recharged becomes a reality.
