You know I felt about the Oppo Find X3 Series. I am sold by the camera bump that “melts” into the back cover and as such, I am compelled to feature the latest Oppo Find X3 Pro Lensman Edition even though it is a little over 2 months late.
One of the key selling points of Oppo Find X3 Pro Lensman Edition is that it comes with the refined ColorOS 12 UI out-of-the-box. But for a person who insists on a non-Apple-like UI, I have no interest in any sort of UI, ColorOS or otherwise. FYI, My preferred launcher of choice is Niagara which I have been a pro user since 2019.
The other selling point of the Lensman edition is the aesthetic which combines a “metal-feel” matte glass and a leather wrap back to recreate the look and feel of a traditional camera (think Leica). The overall result looked convincing enough, IMHO.
Besides the obvious aesthetic change and the presence of ColorOS 12, the Lensman edition remains largely the same Find X3 we saw a few months ago except for one thing very puzzling: it is now significantly thicker than the original Find X3 at 9.1 mm as opposed to 8.26 mm. How? I have absolutely no idea.
Oh, right. There are another two differences from the stock Find X3 Pro: first, it is now IP68 rated and it comes with a luxurious packaging that would turn off eco-conscious gadget lovers. But as a consolation, the included oblong metal and leather box can be repurposed as storage for your small stuff. And why not? It is a beautiful box.
The Oppo Find X3 Pro Lensman Edition is available in China now for 6,499 yuan (roughly US$1,020).
