If your household has people rocking long, lustrous locks – especially, ladies, you’d find a lot of hair on the floor, all around. You probably will not be bothered by the hair that escapes the scalps but it becomes a nightmare when you start vacuuming it.
They get all tangled up in the brush which affects the performance of the vacuum. Ugh. That is something I dreaded most. But thankfully there are anti-tangle solutions out there. The Panasonic MC-SB53K Tangle-free Cyclone Cordless Stick Vacuum is one such solution.
Panasonic uses a similar concept as Dyson V12s to prevent hair – humans’ or pets’ – from tangling to the brush. It does so with a conical design. However, unlike Dyson’s, Panasonic MC-SB53K has this anti-tangle design incorporated into the main brush, dubbed the tangle-free power nozzle – not as an accessory and it has not one but two conical brushes.
The conical brushes have small diameter ends facing each other and with a gap between them. As hairs are picked up, they rotate down to the narrow end and eventually get “ejected” – so to speak – and suck through the gap. By breaking the brush into two (and each conical in shape), this mixed bristle brush prevents tangling while allowing the nozzle to effectively remove dust from a variety of flooring.
Panasonic also solves another favorite tangle point: the roller. Panasonic tackles this by maintaining a smooth surface that prevents hair from being pulled in. In addition, the brush is said to pack around 1.9x more bristle density than conventional cleaners, thus allowing it to kick up even the smallest dust to be sucked into the hungry, filter-free canister.
The vacuum further features Panasonic’s float-lite technology which touts a compact and lightweight motor, an ergonomic handle design, and angled rollers that the tangle-free power nozzle to glide smoothly in all directions – including laterally.
The tangle-free feature is not the only cool tech this high-tech stick vacuum has; it has an integrated clean sensor that alerts you to microscopic dust particles which can potentially cause allergic reactions. When dust is detected, the vacuum power automatically increases in an attempt to suck all the nasties in.
I don’t believe the Panasonic MC-SB53K Tangle-free Cyclone Cordless Stick Vacuum is available in North America. However, we found it being sold in Japan for 39,600 yen [JP] (about US$264). It is also available in Singapore through the Panasonic store for S$454 and in Malaysia for 1,699 Ringgit.
