The iFlash Pro Max iPhone Flashlight by Unnecessary Inventions

I have been following the inventor of unnecessary things Matty Benedetto aka Unnecessary Inventions for almost 5 years now, and I have witnessed unnecessary inventions become, well, necessary inventions. Well, that’s until recently when Matty finally came up with the one true unnecessary invention.

Folks, meet the iFlash Pro Max, a device that “extends the radiance of your phone’s flashlight to new heights.” In simple terms, Matt has invented an iPhone accessory that is essentially a large flashlight that, wait for it, activates when it senses that the iPhone flashlight is turned on.

To do this, he designed and 3D printed a floodlight-style lamp with a cradle for an iPhone. When a huge amount of light is needed, just turn the iPhone flashlight on and drop the phone into the cradle. The embedded light sensor on the iFlash Pro Max will activate the oversized LED array to light up your way.

I know right? You could use a standalone flashlight, or just make an on/off switch for this “accessory”. But that’s the whole idea, being unnecessary. It puts a smile on my face. And this is also when I realize that Matt is back in the game. He finally made an actual unnecessary invention!
