That’s right, animal-inspired products for humans, specifically for the pet-obsessed Homo sapiens. I sure did not see this coming. What a time to live in, right? Especially for proud pet parents.
After six decades of catering to everything from goldfish to Great Danes, Petco is finally throwing us two-legged folk a bone—metaphorically. My Human is a sprawling lineup of over 1,000 products designed to celebrate the fact that you can’t stop talking about your cat, and you think your dog’s birthday deserves a cake.
Expect home décor like dachshund-shaped bookends, duck-shaped sponges, and mugs that translate “how to speak cat.” Apparel ranges from “Rescue is My Favorite Breed” tees to paw print jewelry, with enough funky socks to make laundry day a nightmare. There are party-ready oddities like the May Contain Butts game, umbrellas literally raining cats and dogs, and beach towels demanding strangers “tell your dog I said hi.”
Craft fans can get into origami cats, dog-themed needlepoint, and crochet animals, while gift-givers can snag stress balls shaped like pups in coffee cups, sloth planters, or llama bottle covers. The whole collection feels like someone locked pet lovers in a room with a design team and too much coffee—and honestly, it works.
Petco says most of it is under 20 bucks, which means you can fill your home, office, and probably your car with pet-themed everything without having to explain a massive credit card bill.
