We hate to shove more Playmobil products into your face. But man, the German toy maker is having a blast with official licensed toys that are too good to pass. Just too good.
As per the post title, yes, Star Trek is arriving to Playmobil. It is a refreshing change from the slew of licensed toy cars. So, yeah, Playmobil is going boldly where it has not gone before (though it does have airplane and space-themed sets). And bold is the price too.
The Playmobil 70548 Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise Playset will run you back at a whopping US$499.99 when it arrives in September 2021. 500! I believe this is the most expensive Playmobil playset in recent time.
There are reasons why this set so expensive. For starter, it is enormous. Like 47 inches long by 18 inches wide (119 x 46 cm) kind of huge. If the sheer size isn’t enough to coax the money out of super fans’ wallet. How about lights and sounds – controllable via smart device.
Oh, not enough also? And how about an opening top and side panel that reveal a detailed bridge and engineering areas for you play out your favorite Star Trek The Original Series scenes with the included Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov figures?
That’s a lot of characters in a set and enough to make any fans wet with excitement.
Finally, it is display worthy either on the included stand or wait for it…, suspend from the ceiling. Well, that has to be the first in the toy world designed for children, innit?
I am totally sold, but man, 500 bucks is a lot to shell out. However, if you are undaunted, you may want to pick up the Playmobil 70548 Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise Playset from Entertainment Earth as a pre-order for the aforementioned US$499.99.
