You have heard the news umpteen times over the years and now, the official words are, the Playstation VR is finally going to be available. Set to launch in October 2016, the next level of immersion in gaming on Playstation will run you back at $399 (MSRP). The news was announced at this year’s Game Developers Conference, which Sony also shared with the world what’s in the final consumer version of the Playstation VR headset. According to Playstation blog, gamers can expect over 50 PS VR-compatible games at launch.
As of today, more than 250 developers are building content for Playstation VR – from small independent teams to large studios at the industry’s top publishers, Playstation adds. At the same time with the launch of the hardware, gamers will also be able to download, for free, Playstation Japan’s The Playroom VR which comes with six games as demonstration of the VR’s capabilities.
