Studio F. A. Porsche has launched a new series of eyewear which it dubbed the Iconic series with the aim of creating unique and distinctive eyewear that is limited editions. The Porsche Design Iconic Machined aka Sunglasses P’8951 Ltd. Edition you see here is the first in the series.
The Sunglasses P’8951 Ltd. Edition has an unmistakable futuristic design that somehow feels like it would be a perfect match with the upcoming Tesla Cybertruck. It is a striking pair that oozes technical and futuristic vibes – thanks to angular shapes, the straight lines, and the one-piece lens design.
The bright aluminum and sharp edges create an interplay of light and shade that presents a nice contrast with the mirrored gray shield front of the lens. That’s the aesthetic.
Beyond the look. It is all about innovative manufacturing. This pair of shades is born out of a unique manufacturing method in which the Iconic Machined – specifically the front and temples – is milled from a single, solid aluminum block.
Somehow, this pair of sunglasses give off the Elvis Presley vibe. It looks like what the King of Rock n’ Roll would be rocking if this pair of shades existed in Elvis’ time.
The Porsche Design Iconic Machined is strictly limited to 911 pieces as a nod to Porsche 911 which it drew inspiration from, with each pair commanding a cool US$1,200.
