Another legendary rock band’s name gets immortalized as a record player. Meet the Pro-Ject AC/DC Turntable. Inspired by the Australian rock and roll band best known for tracks including “Back in Black,” “Highway to Hell,” and “Thunderstruck,” the Pro-Ject AC/DC Turntable is striking (pun not intended) with a chassis in the form of a lightning bolt and an 8.6” red, acrylic lightning-shaped tonearm.

The lightning theme and red treatment don’t end there. It has a premium pre-adjusted Ortofon 2M Red MM cartridge, complete with a black lightning decoration on top. The turntable further rocks a heavy glass platter and an acrylic sub-platter with LED lighting. Meanwhile, three height-adjustable spike feet decouple the turntable.
The glass platter is a heavy, zero-resonance type. Pro-Ject says the high mass of the platter “produces the tightest and most accurate playback speeds.” Plus, it lets you see what’s underneath to satisfy the geeky side of the audiophile you.
Other highlights include dual speed (33, 45), a belt-drive system, a 10 mm glass platter with felt mat, a stainless steel axle in brass bushing platter bearing, and a premium connection with the included high-quality Connect it Phono E RCA.
The Pro-Ject AC/DC Turntable is available now for fans who have £1,299 (US$1,769) to drop.
