The new gaming smartphone from Nubia’s Red Magic, the Red Magic 7S, is now official. As expected, there are two models: the Red Magic 7S Pro and 7S. Also expected both models are powered by the latest 4 nm process Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, paired with the fastest memories there are today, namely, LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1.
While both have the same display size, they are different items. Like the 7 Pro, the 7S Pro is the model rocking an under-display selfie camera, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It also has a faster touch sampling rate, at 960 Hz as opposed to 720 Hz on the non-Pro model.
A few other differentiating specs are the battery capacity, charging tech, cooling system, front camera, audio, and the physical shoulder buttons which are only found on the Pro model.
The Pro model is also the one rocking three special edition models and they are the previously reported Bumblebee Edition plus a “Dark Knight” edition and a transparent edition. The latter is available in a choice of white and smoke color options.
Pre-orders for the Red Magic 7S Series Gaming Smartphone are happening now in China, with availability on July 15. Pricing aspect, the Red Magic 7S starts at 3,999 RMB (about US$594+) while the Red Magic 7S Pro sells for 5,199 RMB and up (around US$772+).
