what are your impressions of the current electric cars? short range, lack of power and most importantly of all, they are more of a daily commute vehicle than a sports car as you might have liked. well, not anymore folks. if you are one of those tree-huggers who love cars, you would embrace what the The Concept_One from Croatia automaker, Rimac Automobili, has to offer. The Concept_One takes the drive approach known as All Wheel Torque Vectoring where a 92 kWh battery system powers four independent drive systems, each consisting of one electric motors, inverter and reduction gearbox. this 1,650 kg beast develops a mind-boggling 1088 hp (811 kW) and churns out an equally mind-blowing 3,800 Nm (2,803 lb-ft) of torque, allowing it to rocket from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in mere 2.8-second and sending it towards a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph). the best part about this electric supercar? it has a range of up to 600 km – a figure that we could only dream of as far as electric cars are concerned. other features include head-up displays, soft-close doors system and Pininfarina designed interior upholstered by leather specialist, Vilner. despite its namesake, The Concept_One is not a concept at all but rather, it is a performance electric car that your money can buy. however, if you want one, you better act fast cos’ only 88 units will be made with delivery starting in 2013. roll past the jump for a few more look.
