What has gold got to do with gadgets like, say, a gaming mouse? Well, gold’s connection to electronics runs deeper than you may realize—if you even knew it was there in the first place. Gold already exists, albeit in tiny amounts, inside the electronics of a gaming mouse.
Now, ROG has taken it to the next level by letting you see the gold.

To celebrate 20 years of Republic of Gamers, ASUS built the ROG Harpe II Extreme Edition 20 around a genuine 24K gold-plated internal frame, visible through a smoky translucent shell. The gold extends beyond the frame, too, finding its way onto the scroll wheel, buttons, and even the sensor ring. It is the kind of anniversary product that leaves little doubt ROG was in no mood for a simple commemorative badge or a new paint job.
Fortunately, this is no shelf queen. Beneath the glamorous exterior is one of ROG’s flagship esports gaming mice. It packs the ROG AimPoint Pro optical sensor with up to 65,000 DPI, supports 8,000 Hz polling in both wired and wireless modes, offers tri-mode connectivity, and uses optical switches rated for 100 million clicks. Even with all that extra bling, it weighs just 82 grams (2.9 ounces).
The ROG Harpe II Extreme Edition 20 made its debut at Computex 2026 before going on sale through Best Buy and Newegg on June 2, 2026. It later arrived on Amazon and Micro Center on July 19, carrying a price tag of US$259.99. ASUS has also confirmed that production will only run through the end of 2026.
