DELL has taken the wrap a new 15-inch laptop, the XPS 15 and a new AIO, Inspiron 15 7000. Will they be enough to make me ditch Apple? My answer is, maybe, but it is Windows, which kind of a meh. TBH, it is the OS that has kept me away from DELL. OK. Maybe to some extend, the pricing over here. Anyways, so here it is, the DELL XPS 15 and boy, is it a beauty. Just look at those super narrow bezel offers by its InfinityEdge display. Not only does it make the laptop look sleek, but it also makes the overall size a tad smaller. Speaking of which, it is just about the size of 14-inch variety and weighs a lightweight 1.8 kg (4 lbs). And it is super slim too, measuring 11-17 mm.
You can’t slice and dice with it, but it should make it super handy. Billed as the world’s smallest 15.6-inch performance laptop, the XPS 15 gets at the latest eighth-generation Intel six-core processors, up to a Core i9, backed by up to 32 GB RAM, a choice of storage options, including 128 GB SSD/1 TB HDD combo, a 1 TB solid state hybrid drive, and up to a TB PCIe NMVe SSD. Not shabby at all! In addition, you will also get Intel UHD Graphics 630, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, or 1050 Ti to compliment its UltraSharp 4K UHD IGZO IPS panel display that happens to be only laptop to cover 100 percent Adobe RGB color. The DELL XPS 15 is expected to be available this May, starting at $999.99.
While the entry level model and configuration may be affordable, the high spec device can run to beyond $1,999.99. OK. It is still expensive. I guess it is a pass for me. On a related news, DELL also announced that it has updated its Inspiron 3000, 5000 and 7000 AIO PCs with a choice of AMD or Intel processors. The new AIOs will also have a choice of integrated or discrete graphics, FHD or 4K UHD displays, as well as touch input option. Due to the ridiculously thin bezel, these AIOs will get pop-up webcams. The updated Inspiron AIO PCs will be available in multiple screen sizes with prices starting at $399.99. You can learn more about these new devices HERE.
