Samsung Galaxy A8s Smartphone

Just hours after Huawei’s Honor revealed the “world’s first in-screen selfie camera,” AKA the hole punch camera, Samsung revealed the Samsung Galaxy A8s based on its Infinity-O design which, you guessed it, has a hole punch camera. As far as launch day is concerned, both devices are the world’s first, so there’s really no need to argue who is the first. Wait. No. Samsung Galaxy A8s would be the first-to-the-market since pre-order will kick off on December 21, 2018, and View20 won’t go official until next month. Though it is not known when shipping will happen.

Anyways, unlike Honor View20, Samsung Galaxy A8s ain’t no flagship, or at least it does not sport the flagship requisite mobile platform. The A8s is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Mobile Platform with 6 or 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The latter is expandable, via microSD card, up to 512 GB. It has a 6.4-inch 19.5:9 aspect ratio display with 1,080 by 2,340 pixels (though probably not Super AMOLED, as noted by GSMArena), a 3,400 mAh battery with adaptive fast charging support, a 24 MP f2.0 selfie camera, and a three-camera setup around the back comprising of a 10 MP telephoto lens, a 24 MP main sensor, and a 5 MP depth sensing camera.

That’s about all it is known about this destined-for-China (for now) device for now. Pricing is not known at this point either. Starting from Monday up till when the pre-order begins, Chinese buyers can pre-register to be informed when the pre-order begins and apparently, stand a chance to win prices like discount vouchers, Bluetooth speakers and even the phone itself.
