Being a sucker for 2-way speaker in an earbud, it is only natural that that Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro has all my attention. Aesthetically, it does not have the bean-shaped design as Galaxy Buds Live we saw last here, but it does rock a similar premium metallic finish.
Aesthetic aside, the Galaxy Buds Pro has a lot to shout about. It has a got a 2-way speaker made up of a 11 mm woofer and a 6.5 mm tweeter that promised deeper bass and crisp treble with minimum distortion.
And then there’s the enhanced 3-microphone system with Wind Shield Technology for filtering out wind interference, as well as Voice Pickup Unit, to ensure clearer phone calls even in windy environment.
One of the outer microphones also touts a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) to further eliminate background noises.
The new Galaxy Buds Pro is a pair of ANC earbuds that offers two adjustable levels and four levels of Ambient Sound adjustment. The ANC claims up to 99% noise reduction while up to 20 dB ambient sound amplification.
The earbuds are IPX7 water resistance and offers up to 5 hours of playtime with ANC on (or up to 28 hours with ANC turned off). The included charging case offers another 13 hours of use (or 20 hours without ANC). Connectivity is via Bluetooth 5.0 and codecs supported include AAC and SBC.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro TWS Earbuds will go on sale on January 15, priced at US$199.99.
