Samsung has finally enlightened. The Korean electronics giant appears to be on an innovation spree. First, it has finally woken up and decided to push the limit on thinnest for the Galaxy Z Fold7 (which was never a tradition of this series), and now it has decided the new Galaxy Z Flip7 should have an edge-to-edge external display like its competitors have been doing for the past couple of years.
Folks, meet the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7. Billed as a pocket-sized AI powerhouse, Samsung’s new clamshell foldable now rocks an edge-to-edge FlexWindow display that engulfs the dual camera setup like Xiaomi MIX Flip, Motorola Razr+, Honor Magic V Flip, and the likes.
The new 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow doesn’t just look good; it works harder, too. You can now type quick replies, check schedules, or snap selfies—all without flipping open. It also gets brighter (2,600 nits) and smoother (120 Hz), with Vision Booster for better outdoor visibility.
When unfolded, it reveals a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display and, despite all these upgrades, it’s the thinnest Z Flip yet at just 13.7 mm when closed and a mere 188 grams. Battery capacity gets a bump too—4,300 mAh, the biggest in Z Flip history—offering up to 31 hours of video playback.
Inside, it runs on a new 3nm chip and, for the first time, Samsung DeX is supported. The device also supports Galaxy AI features on both the main screen and FlexWindow, including Gemini Live for voice-based tasks and camera sharing, plus personalized Now Brief updates and third-party app widgets.
Photography-wise, there’s a 50 MP + 12 MP rear cam combo, improved Nightography, and the best selfie setup yet—real-time filters, zoom slider, dual preview, and all that jazz—without ever flipping open.
Also announced is the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE (From US$899.99), a more accessible variant with a 6.7-inch display and the same 50 MP FlexCam.
Both devices are available to pre-order now, with general availability on July 25. The Flip7 comes in Blue Shadow, Jetblack, Coralred, and Mint (online only), while the Flip7 FE arrives in Black or White.
Prices, perks, and 6 months of Google AI Pro and 2TB cloud storage await early adopters. Speaking of price, folks in the U.S. can pre-order the 512 GB model at 256 GB’s price, which is US$1,099.99 (U.P. US$1,219.99).
