if you happen to own a SONOS wireless audio system, you probably already contemplating adding a sub to it for reasons that we need not elaborate. it seems that SONOS understand this and wants you to meet SONOS Sub, a wireless subwoofer that will solve the inadequate low frequency woes, so to speak. this self-powered subwoofer (yes, it still has one cable tied to it: the power cable) connects to your existing SONOS amplified components such as CONNECT:AMP, PLAY:5 and PLAY:3 and features two force-canceling speakers positioned face-to-face. this setup is said to eliminate cabinet buzz and rattles that commonly plague subwoofers. we are not going into length on its technical aspect, which usually only lead us into a dizzy spell (we are geeks, but not that geeky enough) but what we know is, you now have the freedom to place the SONOS Sub anywhere in your room where AC is available and still getting that extra thumping oomph. coming to you this June in high gloss black lacquer for $699 and a black matte version will be arriving in September 2012 for $599.
