Wireless earphones are cool until they run out of juice mid-playlist, and suddenly you’re just walking with ear jewelry. For folks who’d rather skip charging altogether, Sony has cooked up something refreshingly simple: the IER-EX15C USB-C in-ear headphones. Yes, wired. Yes, in 2025.

These buds pack a compact 5 mm driver with a high-compliance diaphragm, which is a fancy way of saying “rich bass, clear vocals, and small enough to disappear in your pocket.” They’re compatible with pretty much any USB-C device—phones, tablets, laptops—so you plug in, hit play, and forget about latency, pairing, or battery anxiety.
Sony did sneak in a few modern touches: an in-line remote for volume, playback, call handling, and muting your mic when you’ve had enough of that Zoom. The serrated, tangle-resistant cable helps keep them from turning into a wire knot, while three sizes of hybrid silicone tips keep the fit snug.
Available in black, white, blue, and pink, they’ll land this September. And for the price… well, it is pretty affordable at €25/£20, which is possibly roughly the cost of dinner that doesn’t even come with dessert.
