after months of speculation and anticipation, Sony has finally made the official announcement of the NEX-3 successor, the NEX-C3. this compact point-and-shoot digital camera is touted to sport a DSLR-sized sensor. since its a Sony product, so naturally you will expect nothing less (at least) from it aesthetic front. on the outside, the NEX-C3 features a solid metal top case with a streamlined grip, while under the hood is a 16.2 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor. some of the features include 720p video recording, 3-inch LCD display, Auto HDR and 3D sweep panorama modes. i know i have sworn not to buy another shooter from Sony, but perhaps this compact with a heart of a DSLR might change my mind. i can’t wait for it to reach our shore and judge for it myself. traditionally, Sony’s point-and-shooters have been (at least to me) lacking when it comes to low light photography, and hence with the incorporation of the APS sensor, i hope it would set things right and thus justify the price tag that it is carrying – which is from $600. check out more images of the NEX-C3 after the break.
