Spry Waterproof Imaging Drone

You have seen drones that swim underwater, a drone that is inflatable, and there is one that’s even biodegradable, and another that dives underwater and also flies. However, the last one is something reserved for research, commercial or military use. Well, that’s until now. Enters Spry Waterproof Imaging Drone, a unique drone that can dive underwater and take to the sky, and one which you and I can own. It is an imaging drone, but unlike water-fearing, popular drones like DJI, Spry can briefly submerge underwater and float on water, while remaining flight capable.

The only thing short is, it can propel on or under water, but it is good enough that aerial imaging now needs not to fear water. What’s even more dope is, it is outfitted with a 4K camera, armed with Sony 1/2.3” CMOS sensor capable of recording 12 MP stills and 4K footage at 30fps. And did we mention the camera is tilt-able? Yup. It does. It has a 4.3-inch display monitor-equipped controller that is totally waterproof too. It is fast too, capable of reaching a top speed of 70 km/h (43 mph) and it has a pretty impressive range of 800 meters (about half a mile) and a video transmission range of 500 meters (1,640 feet). Now, that’s super cool!

Other details include built-in 64 GB storage, WiFi connectivity, a camera dome that cuts sun glare, integrated vertical axis mechanical gimbal, electronic image stabilization, built-in GPS, automatic leveling, shock absorbing rubber feet, simultaneous live streaming to multiple devices, video goggles compatible, and a swappable 2S 2,300 mAh lithium-polymer battery that provides up to 17 minutes flight per charge. Like most imaging drones, Spry can follow, orbit a subject, auto return, launches with a single touch, tap-to-fly, and pull off autonomous navigation.
